El Al CEO: We’ll launch routes to Melbourne, Tokyo, Dublin
El Al Israel Airways Ltd. (TASE:ELAL) CEO Dina Ben-Tal Ganancia has informed the Google tourism conference in Tel Aviv that the provider strategies to start immediate flights to Melbourne, Tokyo and Japan. All three new routes were being announced in 2019 right before the outbreak of the Covid pandemic and then canceled when international travel was disrupted.

Assuming that El Al is granted authorization to fly about Saudi airspace, flights from Tel Aviv to Melbourne in Australia will consider 15 hrs, very similar to the distance among Tel Aviv and Los Angeles, yet another route on which El Al is the only carrier, Ben-Tal Ganacia said. El Al will also be the only provider functioning on the routes concerning Tel Aviv and Tokyo and Tel Aviv and Dublin.

Ben-Tal Ganacia also informed the convention that in five many years, El Al expects that 80% of ticket revenue will be by way of electronic channels. At current 35% of tickets are bought by means of the Web and app and jointly with electronic bookings by vacation agents this climbs to 50%.
