UHI celebrates future talent with business ideas awards

The future talent of the Highlands and Islands was celebrated in type at the UHI organization levels of competition awards yesterday (May 25).

Extra than 60 entries have been made by business people and pupils and put ahead to judges this 12 months.

Judges whittled the shortlist down to 14 stand-out proposals with 8 finalists taking dwelling winners’ plaques and two specific prizes.

Hosted at UHI Inverness campus, it marked a return to in-human being awards following very last year’s virtual event triggered by the pandemic.

Ideas ranged from a new style of a dietary supplement shaker, to a “smart” jumper designed to history and deal with domestic abuse.

The entrants have been all praised by UHI Inverness principal and chief government Christopher O’Neil as “remarkable”.

  • Youth entrepreneur: Jack Barrie.
  • Best social effect: Rebecca Wallace.
  • Very best engineering: Calum Macdonald.
  • Ideal college student: Chloe Muir.
  • Professional: Jack Barrie.
  • Culture and setting: Anna Renouf.
  • Most modern business enterprise: Chloe Muir.
  • Johnston and Carmichael accountancy package deal: Michael Fallows and Connor Rae.
  • Top prize: Ciara Bow.
